home at last - for now!

brakes, motor / gearbox and steering column next - then back to the panel shop for more
the motor will go to Bendigo engine reconditioners for a tickle up. Despite the relative expense of parts (piston kits @ $700) the motor will certainly be under $3000. Three gorillas would mean new everything, lets hope we do not need to spend this much!
Firewall is painted in my interpretation of Nankeen cream - there is a little less yellow in my colour - it looks like a rich vanilla ice cream - yummy for the rounded panels of this model car

rear quarter - hi fill

It's been a long time between drinks but the ute shell will be ready for pick up this week - 14 months is a bit too long but at least we are making some progress I suppose
More frequent updates should ensue from now on..........

V8 fuel economy

11,000 kilometre average of 10.3 litres per 100 K's, not bad for a big 8 cylinder
71 KPH average indicates that this includes town & open road driving.

massaging the rear quarter

it will take two days to straighten the passenger rear as this is the worst panel on the car, after that - clear sailing
we used a lip from a sedan rear quarter to replace the rusted arch, the fit is very good
the HQ is in the background - still in magic order with flawless paint
